Consumers are buying more of everything, from champagne and skirts to shaving kits as retail sales rise while the world opens up with more people getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Consumers are also booking more plane trips, going to the mall or watching movies in a theater again. In this article from CNBC, Commerce Department data shows retail sales rose nearly 10% in March as shoppers wasted no time spending their latest stimulus check. Sporting goods stores saw the largest gain at 23.5%, while clothing stores saw an increase of more than 18%.
