NOTEBOOK – ONE GOOD READ: What’s in a name? It depends a lot on when you were born

Here’s a fun and interesting piece that I found on Time magazine’s website. It answers the question, if you were born today, what name would your parents likely have picked for you? It includes an interactive tool that lets you plug in your name and birth year to show you what a comparably popular name would be, depending on the year. Trying out my name, Joseph, I found that I might be a Jacob today. You’ll just have to pretend it’s pre-COVID times, however, since the tool was last updated for 2019. I think it’s even more fun looking back through the decades. In the 1920s, I could have been Harold. My 1970s moniker? Kevin. The article and interactive tool can be found here.
