Nov. 15: Playwright Karen Schaeffer to speak at WOW November luncheon
About: The event, which includes two sessions for networking, will include lunch and a presentation by Karen Schaeffer, who penned her first play, “Girls’ Weekend,” at age 49 after realizing there were no plays out there for women in her age group. The play was later produced at the Des Moines Community Playhouse and eventually was picked up by theaters in Aberdeen, S.D., and Lawrence, Kan.
