Space at the Temple for Performing Arts in downtown Des Moines is being used as a culinary lab for Oak Park, a fine dining restaurant that will be the anchor tenant of a redevelopment project in the 3900 block of Ingersoll Avenue, the restaurant team announced.  The space in the southwest corner of the Temple previously had been occupied by Starbucks, which moved to a different location. Details about Oak Park were released in December. The 98-seat restaurant, which is expected to open in September, will offer modern American cuisine inspired by seasonal ingredients. The test kitchen space is allowing chef Ian Robertson to try out various dishes, some of which will be shared at occasional tasting dinners, according to a news release. People interested in attending a tasting dinner, which will have limited seating, can sign up by clicking here.
