Oakridge receives $60K Community Foundation grant
A $60,000 leadership grant to Oakridge Neighborhood Services from the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines will help fund the construction of a 4,000-square-foot teen and community center. The center, which will include job training, library resources, computer stations and fitness activities, is part of an overall $20 million transformation of the Oakridge Neighborhood, which is intended to better support low-income families. A variety of funding sources, including the sale of low-income housing tax credits to investors, have been tapped to finance the project.
