The Obama admistration released its jobs plan today and outlined in a press release the impact it would have on Iowa.

Here’s a look at some of plan’s intended impacts on Iowa:

• The plan will cut the payroll tax in half to 3.1 percent for employers on the first $5 million in wages. In Iowa, 60,000 firms will receive a payroll tax cut.
• A typical houshold in Iowa, with a median income of around $51,000, would receive a tax cut of around $1,580. 
• The plan includes $385.9 million in immediate investements for highways, and transit modernization projects to support 5,000 local jobs.
• It includes investing $287.2 million to support 4,100 educator and first responder jobs.
