In this story from the Washington Post, we learn that shrinkflation has struck candy makers, and if you’re like me, there’s nothing fun about that. According to the Post, a bag of dark chocolate Hersey’s Kisses is a couple of punches less. A two-pack of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups is 0.10 ounce lighter, and Cadbury milk chocolate bars are about 10% smaller. But it’s not just this year; making smaller portion sizes is part of a longer-term trend by candy makers to reduce calorie counts and to offer more portion options.
