Origin Homes was awarded a 2025 Rand Fisher Rural Leadership Award at the 2025 Iowa Rural Summit. The award, given by the Iowa Rural Development Council, highlights an organization that demonstrates exceptional leadership, innovation and dedication to advancing rural Iowa’s economic, community and social development. Origin Homes, a division of Hubbell Realty Co., has built 28 homes in five communities, “an $8 million in investment in housing, in three short years since creating our rural housing initiative,” said Matt Daniels, Origin Homes’ director of operations. “We’ve recently selected our next round of communities for this upcoming year. … The momentum rural Iowa has right now really is contagious and we’re so excited to keep playing a small role.” The Rand Fisher Rural Leadership Award was established in 2021 through the support of the Iowa Area Development Group Community Foundation. It honors the decades of contributions to rural Iowa by the group’s former president, Rand Fisher.
