Osmundson Manufacturing Co., a Perry-based agriculture, mining and machine manufacturing company, is continuing its partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa by providing financial sponsorship for two programs that fight food insecurity in the local community. Osmundson’s financial contribution provides funding for the school food pantry program in the Perry Community School District and the Greene County Community School District, as well as the Perry district’s BackPack program. Osmundson has committed to a three-year financial sponsorship of the school food pantry program, and it’s the company’s fifth year supporting the BackPack program. Osmundson’s annual sponsorship totals $17,500 for the two programs. Perry High School and Jefferson High School will host the food pantry programs. There are more than 148 school pantries in 43 counties throughout Iowa that are specifically coordinated by the Food Bank of Iowa — the nonprofit organization provides the food, equipment, structure and oversight for the program. Perry Elementary School will host the BackPack program, which helps feed elementary students on weekends when they don’t have access to school-provided breakfast and lunch.
