Owner vows to rebuild bigger, better facility after fire destroys bowling alley
Des Moines Register: Plaza Lanes owner Randy Thompson says he plans to rebuild after a fire destroyed the longtime Des Moines bowling alley on Monday. “It will probably be bigger, with more amenities,” he said, predicting a fall 2018 reopening. He wants to add an escape room and laser tag, along with a bigger arcade and a new sports bar. He also hopes to bring back the neon bowler who rolled strikes on the building’s roof, depending on the cost.
