Pace of Iowa house sales fastest in three years

Over the year ending May 31, sales increased 7.3 percent, with 4,134 sales, compared with 3,853 sales in May 2014. Active listings were down 3.4 percent and pending listings were up 5.7 percent from a year ago. The report shows the median sale price rose 4.1 percent from last year to $142,450. Houses that sold in May had been on the market an average 75 days, the fastest pace of sales in three years. Houses that sold in May 2014 had been on the market an average of 90 days.
