Count the Kicks and Amerigroup Iowa, an Anthem company, are partnering to educate expectant parents and the health care providers who care for them about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on birth outcomes for pregnant women. The organizations will host a free webinar, “COVID-19 + Pregnancy: How to Improve Outcomes in a Global Pandemic,” on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. It will feature Dr. Sharon Deans, plan performance medical director for Healthy Blue, an Anthem subsidiary, and Ashley Smoots, an epidemiologist on the CDC’s Division of Reproductive Health Emergency Preparedness and Response team. These experts will share data about the impact of the pandemic on birth outcomes for expectant parents with COVID-19.
