The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s second annual Regional Summit will take place on Sept. 17 at the Iowa Events Center. According to a news release, the event is designed to provide opportunities for community, business and civic leaders in the 12-county region to address opportunities and challenges faced by rural, urban and suburban communities, with the goal of advancing Greater Des Moines as a top region for economic development and talent development. “Last year’s Regional Summit exceeded expectations and reaffirmed just how powerful it is when our region comes together,” Tiffany Tauscheck, president and CEO of the Partnership, said in news release. “Our region’s momentum is fueled by our ability to unite around shared goals, create opportunities and solve problems collaboratively. We are stronger together, and the Summit plays a key role in advancing our region’s collective progress.” The Partnership’s annual Economic Impact Awards will be presented during the summit. A 40-year tradition, the Economic Impact Awards recognize local companies for their contribution to the economic and community vitality of Greater Des Moines.
