Partnership’s Irwin named Deloitte CFO of the Year

182 wordsAll Latest News, Banking and Finance, Economic DevelopmentKirk Irwin, the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s chief administrative officer, has been selected by the Business Record as the Deloitte CFO of the Year.
The award will be presented to Irwin at the Business Record’s Economic Forecast Luncheon on Jan. 25.
Irwin joined the Partnership, Central Iowa’s economic and community development organization with 21 chambers of commerce and 5,000 business members, in September 2007 as chief financial officer and was later promoted to CAO.
He oversees all financial aspects of the Partnership, which operates on an annual budget of almost $9 million. His duties include budgeting and forecasting and audit and tax responsibilities. In addition, he handles other areas for the 43-employee organization such as human resources, risk management, IT, property management and more.
He played a key role in the Partnership 2017’s investor campaign Maximizing Momentum 2022, which broke records.
Before joining the Partnership, Irwin worked as the vice president and COO of Alliance Minerals North America and as the COO of the United Way of Central Iowa. He also held several executive positions with Proliant Inc. and the Lauridsen Group.
