Pella Corp. plans to open an office near Interstate 35/80 and Northwest 86th Street along Northpark Drive, the Des Moines Register reported. Pella officials said the move is an effort to attract applicants in a tight labor market. Pella now has about 100 employees commuting from Des Moines to Pella, some spending two hours a day on the road or working at home some days. The Urbandale office will mostly house the digital marketing team and a satellite customer service team but may be used by others.
