Des Moines-based American Enterprise Group Inc. announced that Kenn Peterson has joined the company as vice president for national preneed sales. Peterson will focus on increasing preneed funeral insurance sales for Great Western Insurance Co., which AEG acquired last year. Peterson, an Ohio native, has more than 32 years of experience in the funeral service industry. Before joining AEG, he was regional director with West Des Moines-based Homesteaders Life Co., where he had worked for the past 18 years. He also worked for Forethought Financial Services in numerous roles throughout his 14 years with the company. “When we announced the acquisition of GWIC in January 2018, we affirmed our commitment to preneed and stated we had the financial strength and stability to facilitate significant growth of all our lines of business,” said Tom Swank, CEO of AEG. “As the leader of our national sales team, Kenn will enhance our ability to innovate, sustainably grow, and scale as we continue to strengthen our position as an industry leader in the preneed market.”
