Pioneer growers capture national yield titles
Farmers using Pioneer International Hi-Bred Inc. hybrid seeds captured half of the 18 top spots in the 2011 National Corn Growers Association Corn Yield Contest, including four of the six first-place category finishes. A Virginia grower, David Hula, attained the highest overall yield nationally, 429.02 bushels per acre. The NCGA Corn Yield contest is an annual U.S. national competition among corn growers with the goal of producing the highest yields.
