Des Moines Register: The Polk County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 today to increase the county’s minimum wage to at least $10.75 by 2019, in its third and final reading of the ordinance. In a first-of-its-kind move in Iowa, supervisors approved a separate, lower wage for minors, a request made by the state’s grocery industry. For workers under age 18, employers will have to pay 85 percent of the new minimum wage.
