PR association recognizes Drake professor
Kelly Bruhn, a Drake University associate dean and educator, has received the 2024 Outstanding Educator Award from the Public Relations Society of America, an organization that serves over 400 professional and student communications chapters in the U.S. and elsewhere. Bruhn, associate dean of Drake’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, teaches undergraduate students in public relations writing, marketing campaign strategy and research. She also teaches advanced topics in Drake’s master of arts in communication program. Before joining Drake’s staff in 2009, Bruhn worked in public relations, where she developed award-winning campaigns for Verizon Wireless and various nonprofit organizations. Bruhn will be recognized at the society’s annual conference Oct. 15-17 in Anaheim, Calif.
