Principal Foundation announces 2024 winner and finalists of Money Chronicles

The Principal Foundation has announced one winner and 19 finalists for its second “Money Chronicles: A Story Initiative” national short-story contest that invited people to share stories about experiences with money and personal finances. This year’s winner was Genevieve Abravanel from Lancaster, Pa., with the story “These Dark Woods.” The winner and all finalists’ stories will be published through the Principal Foundation’s Short Story Dispensers, which has locations at Prairie Lights Books in Iowa City as well as New York, Los Angeles, Charlotte, N.C., Seattle and Washington, D.C. The winner will receive $1,000, and each finalist will get $150. The finalists’ stories are also being considered for publication in Short Edition’s global network of more than 500 dispensers located around the world.
