Principal reports flat earnings
Principal Financial Group Inc. on Monday reported earnings of $218.9 million for the third quarter, compared with $219.1 million in the third quarter of 2009.
Principal reported net income available to common stockholders of $142.2 million, compared with $184.7 million in 2009, and operating revenues of $1,986.7 million vs. $1,961 million last year.
Chairman, President and CEO Larry Zimpleman said in a company news release that year-to-date operating earnings are up 19 percent from 2009, and average assets under management are up 12 percent.
