Realtors: Des Moines sales remain stable
For the fifth straight month, home prices in the Des Moines area remained stable, according to data released by the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. In December, the average sale price of a home in Des Moines was $163,002, up more than $3,000 from a year ago. The report shows that 387 contracts were written in December, which outpaced the previous month and year-prior number of closings. Last month, homes were on the market an average of 113 days, and there were 5,125 active listings.
