Red Cross, SBA develop disaster preparedness course
The U.S. Small Business Administration and the American Red Cross have joined forces to intensify efforts to educate the public about the importance of having a disaster recovery plan in place. Studies indicate that between 15 and 40 percent of businesses fail following disasters because they did not have recovery plans in place. Under the agreement, the two agencies will work to increase awareness among the business community about the Red Cross Ready Rating program http://readyrating.org/ The free, Web-based membership program helps businesses identify their ability to deal with emergencies.
