Renewable Energy Group Inc. announced today that it has acquired a Northern California bulk fuel distributor. According to a news release, REG’s acquisition of Dawson Oil Company will bring about 24 million gallons of fuel sales per year to the Ames-based company’s portfolio. Dawson Oil Company, which serves about 4,500 customers in the Greater Sacramento Valley, will continue to serve existing customers and expand its offerings to include REG’s EnDura Fuels to users in the commercial, agriculture, industrials, government and recreation vehicles. REG’s EnDura fuels is a line of renewable products to help companies reach their sustainability goals. Cynthia Warner, REG President and CEO, said the acquisition is an opportunity for growth as California leads the way in efforts to lower carbon fuels. “Combining REG’s bio-based diesel expertise with the market and operational know-how of the Dawson Oil team will further position REG as the clean fuel transition partner of choice,” she said. Kasey Fray, owner of Dawson, which has been family-owned and operated since it began in 1970, said joining REG will help the company grow by introducing renewable fuels that will help customers meet their sustainability goals. The acquisition comes as REG is in the middle of being acquired by Chevron Corp., a deal that is expected to close in the second half of 2022. It also follows REG’s acquisition of Southern California fuel distributor Amber Resources earlier this year. Photo submitted by REG.
