Registration open for 2023 Harkin on Wellness Symposium

The Harkin on Wellness Symposium is set to take place on April 13 and will focus on new approaches to improve health and food outcomes while making these systems more sustainable. The event will feature national and local experts, including speakers such as Walter Willett from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School, Stacy Dean from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Chris Jones from the University of Iowa. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from the 2023 HOW designees, who are being recognized for their commitment to creating initiatives that promote nutrition security at the local level. The event will take place in person at Parents Hall in the Olmsted Center at Drake University, as well as online through a livestream. Registration is currently open and free, with a suggested donation of $50 to help offset costs. Accommodations, such as American Sign Language and live captions in English, will be available for all general session content for attendees.
