A commercial and multifamily residential development called Village on Jordan Creek is planned at Ashworth Road and Jordan Creek Parkway. The project will include a Ruth’s Chris Steak House that will offer valet parking and patio seating. Rendering special to the Business Record

A multilevel, brick building with large windows and a glass-enclosed staircase will house Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, the national steakhouse that will open its first Iowa location in West Des Moines in late 2022.

The New Orleans-based steakhouse will anchor Village on Jordan Creek, a $20 million to $30 million commercial and residential development planned on the southwest corner of Ashworth Road and Jordan Creek Parkway. This week, West Des Moines city officials shared preliminary renderings of the project being co-developed by Great Lakes Capital and CRG Residential.

The steakhouse will occupy 15,000 square feet in the northeast corner of the building, the renderings show. The two-level restaurant will have outdoor seating on the first and second floors. A canopy will cover an entrance to the restaurant and driveway where valet parking will be offered.

The development, planned on about 9.5 acres, is proposed to include 199 high-end multifamily units whose residents will have access to a courtyard and salt-water pool. The multifamily units, with balconies or patios, will be located in a four-story square-shaped building that wraps around a three-story parking garage and the pool and courtyard. The building’s exterior will include different tones of brick, the renderings show.

Construction of the development is expected to begin in the fall, once all the necessary city approvals are in place. The restaurant is expected to open in late 2022.
