Report: Government payrolls down 5 percent

A new report says that that Iowa’s state government payroll is down by 5 percent since Gov. Terry Branstad took office.

The Legislative Services Agency analysis notes that  more than 900 employees left during Branstad’s first 18 months and that the average state employee’s salary has remained consistent at $51,700, according to RadioIowa.
