Ryan Mulhall will serve as executive director of the Iowa Communications Network, an independent state agency that administers the state’s fiber optic telecommunications network. Mulhall begins his new role on Friday. Mulhall, who was appointed by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, has worked at ICN since 2016, including serving as its chief information officer since 2021. Previously, he worked for IP Pathways specializing in IT infrastructure projects and led communications for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan and on military bases in the U.S. “Iowans living in both rural and metro communities rely on connectivity across our state. For more than 30 years, the Iowa Communications Network has provided vital services in all 99 counties,” Reynolds said in a prepared statement. “Ryan is an exceptional leader with impressive experience, and I know he’ll continue to build on the trusted and reliable work ICN has already achieved.”
