Gov. Terry Branstad today named Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds to oversee the transitional process of the Rebuild Iowa Office (RIO) as it prepares for its scheduled June 30 close.

Branstad said Reynolds would take this as an opportunity to review the tasks associated with the RIO and use that information to recommend how to best serve the health and safety of Iowans during future natural disasters.

“Our administration will look for efficiencies and opportunities to best serve Iowans, especially during times when they need it most,” Reynolds said in a press release.
