The U.S. Small Business Administration announced Erin Huiatt, owner of Des Moines Parent and president of FemCity Des Moines, as the 2024 Iowa SBA Women in Business Champion of the Year. In addition to her role at FemCity, Huiatt launched the Des Moines Beyond Business Conference in 2022, is an author and serves on the board of the Des Moines Children’s Museum and the Grimes Chamber & Economic Development. “The SBA Iowa District Office is honored to recognize Erin Huiatt as an inspiration to professional women throughout Central Iowa,” said Jayne Armstrong, SBA district director, in a prepared statement. “Thanks to her vision and hard work, women now have access to the necessary resources to start, build and grow their businesses. She is truly making a significant difference in Iowa’s small business community.”
