Schaul named Des Moines’ finance director

Nick Schaul, previously assistant finance director for the city of Des Moines, has been named finance director. Schaul replaces Bob Fagen, who retired in December. Schaul started working for Des Moines in April 2017 when he was the city’s deputy comptroller. Schaul’s previous work experience includes work for the city of Iowa City as its budget/management analyst and as an auditor for the state of Iowa. Schaul’s annual salary is $158,000.
