The Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence will award $1,000 scholarships to 25 domestic violence survivors across Iowa through the Alice Barton Scholarship Program, the organization announced. The program, which works to empower survivors of domestic violence through education and job training, was founded by Des Moines attorney Roxanne Conlin with her brother, Great Clips Inc. founder Raymond Barton, and her sister, Great Clips CEO Rhoda Olsen, in honor of their mother, Alice Barton. a survivor of domestic abuse. All applications must be submitted to Elizabeth Albright Battles at the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence by Dec. 16. The awards will be announced in January.
