Science Center receives $25,000 for preschool playground
The Science Center of Iowa and Blank IMAX Dome Theater (SCI) has received a $25,000 grant from the W.T. & Edna M. Dahl Trust for outdoor improvements to the SCI Preschool playground. The outdoor improvements “will have an immediate, positive impact on the children and teachers,” by giving students more play-based learning activities, said Art Wittmack, SCI’s president and CEO.  The SCI Preschool was one of the first museum-based preschools in the country. It is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and serves 140 3- and 4-year-olds each school year.
