Second in Partnership’s Supplier Diversity Small Business training series is Thursday

135 wordsAll Latest News, Business Community Events, Economic DevelopmentThe second session of the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Supplier Diversity Small Business Track series is scheduled for Thursday, and will focus on becoming a certified targeted small business. The session will be conducted virtually, and feature Jill Lippincott, a team lead, innovation and apprenticeship at the Iowa Economic Development Authority. During her presentation, Lippincott will go over the application process, certification turnaround time, using the online portal for state bidding, the Targeted Small Business Loan Program, along with other pertinent information. The certification allows a business to work with the state and is important for securing large company contracts. The program is scheduled from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The third session in the series is scheduled for 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, and it will focus on selling to the government.
