Seneca Cos. names new president, chief operating officer

187 wordsAll Latest News, Energy, Key Leadership ChangesSeneca Cos., a Des Moines-based petroleum products company, has announced Darren Binning as its new president and chief operating officer.
Binning’s 20-year career with Seneca started in 2004 when he joined as a project manager. Most recently, he served as vice president of the company. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science.
“I truly appreciate this opportunity. It is a big role that carries a lot of responsibility,” Binning said in a prepared statement. “Fortunately, my 20-year journey at Seneca has prepared me for this, as well as having a fantastic support team of familiar and friendly faces to help.”
He said in the statement that the company recently transitioned to a regional leadership structure and has promoted three employees to lead its central, southern and western markets.
The new regional vice presidents are Todd Clubb for the central region; Corey Hackett for the western region; and Mike Worthington for the southern region.
“Seneca is growing into new geographies, which will continue to create new and exciting opportunities for our team members,” Binning said in the statement.
