The property at 1810 Beaver Ave. sold for $175,000, with the provision that Snookies owner Brandy Proulx would have the first shot at buying it back if the Hunters want to sell the operation, receive a purchase offer or no longer want to operate an ice cream or malt shop at the location. The right of first refusal expires in two years, Feb. 15, 2021, according to Polk County property records. Snookie was the nickname of the late Marilyn Caves, who opened the shop in 1986 with her husband, the late Jim Graves. The couple retired in 2012, when ownership passed to Proulx, their daughter.
