SPEAK UP: Understanding work-family challenges facing women of color
Policies promoted by the Department of Labor, such as paid family leave, investments in affordable child care and more, are important to promoting and creating more equitable workplaces, writes Jocelyn Fry with the Center for American Progress. However, this means taking a workplace culture that historically ignored the care needs of women of color and transforming it into an intentional, solutions-focused environment and identifying the different barriers they face.
