Joe Lonsdale and Kyle Bass will headline the 2025 Land Investment Expo, planned for Jan. 14 at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines, planners of the event announced.

In its 18th year, the expo is hosted by Peoples Land Co.

Lonsdale is founder and managing partner of 8VC, a technology and biosciences investment firm, and co-founder of Palantir, a firm that specializes in software platforms for big data analytics. Bass is co-founder and CEO of Conservation Equity Management, which invests in real estate assets that promote permanent land and ecosystem conservation. Bass is also founder and chief investment officer of Hayman Capital Management, an asset management firm.

“Joe and Kyle are both tremendously successful executives who aren’t afraid to share their outside-the-box thinking on geopolitics, economics and investing strategies,” Steve Bruere, president of Peoples, said in a news release. “I can’t wait to hear what they’re watching in the market and how changes in Washington, D.C., in 2025 might impact their outlook.”

Other speakers include:

  • Steve Eisman, whose work was chronicled in the book and movie “The Big Short.”
  • Richard Vague, the former secretary of banking and securities in Pennsylvania.
  • Cliff Kupchan, chairman of Eurasia Group.
  • Marc Brinkmeyer, owner and chairman of Idaho Forest Group.
  • Eric O’Keefe, editor of the Land Report magazine. O’Keefe will emcee the Expo.

The expo typically attracts more than 1,000 attendees. For more information or to get tickets, click here.
