The Mind & Spirit Counseling Center, formerly known as the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center, has announced the 25th Annual Women Helping Women luncheon event on May 19.

The event is expected to attract more than 500 guests and raise $250,000 to support mental health counseling, education, training and other services that impact women, children and families who are uninsured or underinsured.

Connie Isaacson, a member of the first Women Helping Women committee, will be honored for her passion for nonprofit organizations. Jann Freed will provide the keynote message regarding the importance of finding purpose and meaning throughout life’s transitions to make a positive impact on mental health.

Since 1999, the event has raised more than $1.7 million for women and children who experience violence, poverty, trauma, depression, anxiety, abuse and other issues that can be addressed through counseling, psychiatry, self-discovery and education.

More information about the event can be found at the Mind & Spirit Counseling Center website.
