Spina Bifida Association of Iowa holding 50th anniversary gala

The Spina Bifida Association of Iowa will hold its 50th anniversary gala on Nov. 9, according to a news release. The Iowa nonprofit aims to enhance the lives of those affected by spina bifida through support programs, advocacy and education initiatives, including family assistance, college scholarships and wheelchair resources. Donna Cruz Jones, a national speaker and disability advocate, will serve as the keynote speaker. Jones’ advocacy includes serving two terms on the Spina Bifida Association National Board and testifying to a U.S. House subcommittee as a representative of the spina bifida community.
