The Iowa Department of Education announced $3.5 million in competitive grants to Iowa schools to create or expand before-and-after school programs. All Iowa schools are eligible to apply for the Learning Beyond the Bell grant, which will offer schools up to $200,000 for staffing, evidence-based math and reading interventions, tutoring, transportation and meals aligned with requirements of the National School Lunch Program.
