State announces winners of design challenge competition for K-12 Iowa students

132 wordsAll Latest News, Education, HousingIowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Department of Education recently named the winners of the Build Iowa’s Future Design Challenge. The competition challenges elementary, middle and high school students to design a place to live or place that would improve their community. First-place awards of $1,000 each will be made to the following schools: DeSoto Intermediate School in the elementary school division; ADM Middle School of Adel in the middle school division; and Van Buren County High School of Keosauqua in the high school division. The Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning and the Home Builders Association of Iowa hosted the challenge to provide a framework for professional authentic project development and resources for schools.
