State awards Watershed Management Authority funds
The Iowa Economic Development Authority and Department of Natural Resources today announced funding for six Watershed Management Authority (WMA) applications. Each recipient of the seed money will form a WMA to reduce future flood risks and improve water quality in a watershed. The recipients include Story County, which received $25,060 to work on Squaw Creek, and Dallas County which received $29,350 to work on the Middle-South Raccoon River. The funding was provided through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Relief allocation.
