State hires Inova, Battelle to lead energy plan

120 wordsAll Latest News, Energy, Government Policy and LawInova Energy Group and Battelle Memorial Institute were selected to conduct a study that will inform the state’s new energy plan, Gov. Terry Branstad said in a statement. Twelve companies had replied to a request for qualifications. The $500,000 plan is expected to be completed by November 2016. The consultants will work with a leadership team of Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, Pella Corp. CEO Pat Meyer, Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress members, and representatives from the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Department of Transportation. The latter two agencies will pay for the plan.Applications are being accepted for working groups that will include economic development and energy careers; energy resources; transportation and infrastructure; and energy efficiency and conservation.
