The contract with the management group that runs the state-owned resort is set to expire in April of next year. DNR Director Kayla Lyon told the Natural Resources Commission on Thursday that the department will seek a review of the operation. Lyon was asked by a commission member if the DNR is looking for a new management company or to sell. “The goal is to sell the property, so we are asking the appraisal to include the business side — and then what the assets are worth,” Lyon said. The park sits on the shore of Lake Rathbun and opened in 2008 at a cost of around $60 million.
