The Iowa Transportation Commission has approved a draft of its 2023-2027 Transportation Improvement Program, which identifies investments in transportation projects including multi-model transportation, aviation, railroads, trails and highways. The program, approved Tuesday, is developed and approved annually. The highway and bridge projects included in the plan are funded by about $4.2 billion in state and federal funding, including from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. More than $3.3 billion in the plan is designated to improve the safety of highways and bridges.
