Stocks fall on weak jobs report

Dismal job market data pushed stocks further down on Friday, Reuters reported.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index was down 2 percent at 10:45 a.m. Central time, taking the benchmark below its 200-day moving average for the first time since Dec. 30.

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 224.52 points, or 1.81 percent, and the Nasdaq composite dropped 58.05 points, or 2.05 percent.
