Story Construction acquires Sioux City-based L&L Builders

216 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentAmes-based Story Construction has announced an agreement to buy the assets of L&L Builders Co., a general contractor based out of Sioux City.
According to a news release announcing the acquisition, Story Construction will retain L&L Builders’ workforce and do business in the Sioux City region under the L&L Builders name.
“L&L’s longstanding reputation and commitment to its partners and clients aligns perfectly with our vision for growth,” Mike Espeset, president of the employee-owned Story Construction, said in the release. “We look forward to continuing to deliver for those in the Siouxland region and expand the reach of Story Construction.”
L&L Builders was founded by brothers Larry and Lonny Book in 1960 and has expanded its portfolio over the years to include commercial construction and major renovations in the medical, industrial, government, restaurant and historic restoration markets.
“I’m so proud of what this firm has accomplished throughout its history and in the 10 years I’ve been with the company,” Joel Jarman, president of L&L Builders Co., said in the release. “We’re excited to see our people continue to thrive and grow in this next chapter under the leadership and support of Story Construction.”
Story Construction, founded in 1934, is a general contractor, construction manager and design-builder serving a variety of commercial markets in Central Iowa and across the state.
