Sukup Manufacturing Co.’s board of directors has named Tom Mangan, the company’s chief financial officer, to serve as Sukup’s next president and CEO. Steve Sukup will begin a transition into the chairman role in October after five years as president and CEO. Sukup and Mangan will work together through the transition period.

Steve Sukup will transition to co-chairman of the board alongside Charles Sukup and will assume full chairman duties in 2026.

“Tom Mangan is a proven leader and an important part of Sukup Manufacturing Co. growing to a higher level in the past several years under Steve’s leadership. Tom has worked closely with the Sukup family and executive team. The Sukup family and the board of directors have great confidence in Tom and his leadership ability,” Charles Sukup, chairman of the board, said in a press release.

Mangan joined Sukup as CFO in April 2020, becoming the first non-family executive in the company’s history. In his current role, Mangan leads the finance, IT and supply chain functions.

Sukup’s Chief Innovation Officer Hank Norem will succeed Mangan as CFO effective in October, the release said. Norem joined Sukup in December 2023 after the manufacturer acquired Ramco Innovations, where Norem has been CEO for 15 years. Ramco recently rebranded to Ramco Powered by Sukup to demonstrate a strategic alignment with Sukup, Norem told the Business Record.

The company’s executive team also includes Chief Administrative Officer Emily Schmitt and Chief Marketing Officer Matt Koch, who are third-generation family members.

“Sukup Manufacturing remains a family-owned and operated company with three generations and nine family members (including Mom, our co-founder) actively involved in the business and will continue serving the community. We look forward to supporting Tom as he works closely with Sukup customers and employees to lead Sukup Manufacturing in excellence, quality, and integrity,” Charles Sukup said in the press release.

Mangan said in the release: “It’s difficult to put into words how excited I am to be appointed as the next leader of Sukup Manufacturing Co. I am very appreciative for the trust the Sukup Family has placed in me to lead our growing organization. The strategic opportunities that lie ahead combined with our talented team of employees and dealers make this an exciting time to lead this company into the future.”

Sukup produces grain drying, handling and storage products and is headquartered in Sheffield.
