Survey: Large firms plan to hire recent graduates
Large employers plan to increase their hiring of college graduates finishing their degrees during the 2011-12 academic year, The Wall Street Journal reported. A survey by Michigan State University’s Collegiate Employment Research Institute shows that big firms – those with more than 4,000 workers – plan to hire 6 percent more graduates than last year. Smaller companies – those with fewer than 500 employees – plan to add an average of 11 recent grads each, about the same as last year. Medium-sized companies, though, are expected to hire 3 percent fewer graduates than a year ago.
